Cohort Symposium 2015European Cohort Studies on Healthy Ageing at Work - Third Symposium by NRCWE Date September 10 (1.00 pm - 6.00 pm) & September 11 (9.00 am - 1.00 pm), 2015
Venue NRCWE, Lersoe Parkallé 105, 2100 Copenhagen Ø, Denmark.
Aim of the symposium
The symposium aims to connect European cohort studies in order to exchange knowledge and highlight important research questions in the context of demographic change. Furthermore, the symposium aims to facilitate discussion and collaboration between research groups and scientists on existing and future (joint) cohorts studies on healthy ageing at work.
This third symposium aims to further strengthen the discussions and collaborations initiated by the LidA Symposium organized by BAuA in Hannover, Germany in 2012 and the STREAM symposium organized by TNO in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 2013. Focus will be on labour market participation of older persons. Especially studies integrating different disciplines are welcomed, e.g. the influence of work, health, motivation, skills and knowledge, and social and financial factors on retirement patterns or job-retention and job-job mobility of elderly workers. Therefore, the symposium addresses scientists with a public health, psychological, sociological, economical, and epidemiological background.
The Joint Program initiative launched in 2014 a fast track project aiming to collect current knowledge on factors of particular importance for labour participation of older persons. The overall report, as well as a series of domain reports and national reports, was presented at a conference in berlin 5-6 February, 2015. The reports may be a good starting point for discussions.
Link to the reports: Full report
In addition to presentation of the fast track project “Understanding employment participation of older workers”, oral presentations of findings from various large European cohort studies will be given. In addition to oral presentations, a poster presentation session including short pitches will be arranged. A detailed program will follow end of April 2015.
